AgriNet Governance Summit Tanzania 2023

The AgriNet Governance Summit Tanzania is a high-level event that will take place on the 8th and 9th of August 2023, which coincides with Farmers Day, a day to celebrate and recognize the contributions of farmers to the Tanzanian economy.

The event will be hosted by Shamba Box, The summit aims to create a platform for stakeholders to share their experiences, knowledge, and best practices on how to leverage the Internet for sustainable development in Tanzania’s agriculture sector.

Objectives:

1. To promote an understanding of the role of the Internet in transforming Tanzania’s food systems and agricultural value chain.
2. To foster dialogue between stakeholders in agriculture and Internet governance to identify opportunities and challenges associated with the use of the Internet in agriculture.
3. To promote the adoption of policies and best practices that promote a secure, stable, and robust Internet in Tanzania’s agriculture sector.
4. To create networking opportunities for participants to engage with like-minded individuals, organizations, and experts in agriculture and Internet governance.

Participants: The event targets a wide range of stakeholders, including youth, women, policymakers, government officials, researchers, farmers, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and international organizations. We expect to attract over 200 participants from across Tanzania and beyond.

The AgriNet Governance Summit Tanzania will be a two-day event that will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities.
